VLOG: For Whitney and Mrs. Terry

Thanks so much, you guys!! I had a WONDERFUL birthday! I'm super sad it's over, but David said I can celebrate the whole month of September, so...it's my birthday today! And also, it's (for real) Bryan's, my brand new brother-in-law. Hmm...couldn't quiiiiite get first place, but hey, Bry, September 2 is nothing to be ashamed of. We can't all be numero uno. And Happy Birthday to you, buddy!

So, stories and pictures it is! Those are my faves to do. :) Jocelyn, this is for you, sweet friend...it's Bow-g (like you tie a bow, not "bow wow, I'm a dog."). So, bow (like a bow tie) with a G at the end. And Weee and jer...like "jar," but "jer." This is why I'm not an English teacher. I'm horrible at this. Bow-g and Wee-jer. I hope that helps. My grandfather always just pronounced the words that way, but we never knew how to spell them, so I just spelled them how I thought was best phonetically. I do get a lot of confusion, and that's my own fault. One guy was convinced it was European... Bo-gueye und Wee-heair. But, no.

So, sweet Whitney over at The Glamorous Life of A Housewife did a funtabulous vlog yesterday and it was adorable and she's too cute for words and pregnant and oh my gosh, Weeb's dimples own me. She said on Facebook she wanted me to do it, too, so this is for her! I'll have to tell you the story of how Whitters and I met one day. It's a fun one. (I pointed that the link to her website would be below, but it's not...ignore me.)

You have a list of words to say and questions to answer (below the video window).

Warning, after you watch this, you're going to be like, "I didn't know Ruth was a total spaz." Well, yes, it's true. I do not do well on a camera. I'm kind of a child. I went and put on just enough make-up so it wouldn't be like, "Hey, whoa, Ruth put on some make-up," but enough to cover up the affliction known as having kids and being tired...just enough to be natural, so you'd never know. But, now you do, so nevermind. And also, I didn't know my face looked like that when I talked...you guys never told me. (I'm looking at several of you right now.) But, there's nothing that can be done. Several takes later and this is what I have. Also, the girls had just woken up from a nap, so they were out. of. it.

It's fun. And you all should do it and tell me you've done it so I can go and watch it!

The instructions are to say these words:
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught

And answer these questions:
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you use to change the TV channel?

  5. Ruthie, you write about whatever crosses your mind, Honey Chile! It's always so much more entertaining than anything I could think up for you to write about. I check your blog every day, and I'm always so disappointed when you don't post anything. Love you!

  6. Ha! Love it. Though ya'll are really making me wish I made myself decent before making a video. Not to present reality, but y'know, to fit in.
